Ive just started brainstorming for plots of my new novel.
So far I have got two ideas -
* An adopted non-magical boy gets given the chance to be re-introduced into the magical community at the cost of leaving his old life behind and serving for a master, but gets the opportunity of going to magical school and living the life he could only ever imagine.
* A non-Magical person stumbles upon the magical world, after narrowly missing death. He starts seeing the magicals going about their life, it then starts causing his normal life to break down, due to him following the magicals and trying to become one of them. After months of trying to fit in he finally gives in and follows a lone magical person home, then catches the magical person off guard and murders him and takes up his life.
At this moment in time I am going to post-pone my short story “Captain”, This is because I have had an idea for a novel and am currently in the process of creating the world that it is set in.
Once I have completed it I will continue writing “Captian”.
After spending five days reading the final instalment of the Harry Potter series, I thought that it was a great ending to an amazing series. Some parts of the book are slow, at times even drawn out a little too much, but with all that said the rest of the book makes up for the slow parts. The Deathly Hallows is a good book, nowhere near as good as the first few instalments in the series, as in the way the book is written, but is still an enjoyable read. There is plenty of action, happiness, sadness, heroism, a well set out plot and plenty of descriptive and imaganative writing. Its not the best book in the series, but it is not the worst.
So after reading the book for the third time I came to the conclusion that this book is worth reading if you have read the rest of the books, if not go out and read them all, anyone of any age would find this and the other books enjoyable and I would very much recommend this book.
So a few days ago I started writing my first story, that for now I’ll be calling “Captain”, it’s about a blacksmith who wants to own a ship one day and has to overcome a few obstacles to achieve his goal.
The current word count as of 10/07/2010 is 425, not much progress today as I have been setting up this website, for the purposes of my writing.
Once I get some reading time in I will post reviews of the books I read here.
